Today I operate as a one-man, self-funded search operation with the intention of identifying and purchasing a small business in or around my community. 

I am an a-typical 'searcher' for a couple reasons : I do not have an MBA, all my experience has come from actually working in startups that ultimately became public companies. I do not have a Finance background or represent a Private Equity firm-- which is where the more traditional searchers live.
